The Labrador Retriever is a very good dog to have. They are very playful and great to have around little kids and family. They love playing catch and are bred for retrieving ducks or other small animals when you go hunting. They are great for any type of weather and do not get super cold or hot.

Labrador Retrievers are very intelligent dogs and you can train them fairly easily. They are good family dogs because they don't harm anyone that they know, they are bred to hunt so that means that they are super active if you want a playful and loveable dog for your family. But a lot of people love being around dogs and they love being around people and love to play catch.

The Labrador Retriever is bred for hunting and playing a lot so it is not recommended to get one if you can not make time for the dog, they are especially high- energy dogs and they can have a chewing problem but you can fix that by giving them a chew toy or bones. The labrador loves to work with people and They can also help with farm work like gathering cattle and staying in the pins with them because they are very protective over people and whatever they protect.

Labradors are perfect for winter and summer hunting because of the double fur coat they can work in ice cold lakes and water if they need to retrieve anything, they also tend to shed their fur during the summer so they do not overheat when they are running in the heat. In the 1800’s people mostly in Canada had these dogs because of the double fur coat and the labrador are also very good swimmers and are good at retrieving things that fall into the water.

Only two things are negative about the labrador retriever, They have a double coat of fur but that means they shed a lot if you keep it as a inside dog fur will be everywhere, but if you have a fence and keep it outside with a dog house then you will not have to worry about fur everywhere. Secondly, they can develop behavior issues early on while they are puppies. The reason for this is some people do not raise their dogs the way they are supposed ro be raised, you have to let the dog outside but teach the dog not to be aggressive and give them treats when they have good behavior.

If you want a dog that is super playful and is a great family dog, if you have time to play with the dog, and even if you go hunting, the Labrador Retriever is the perfect dog for all those activities but you have to train the dog the right way and let them outside a lot. And if you are scared of invaders then the dog will protect you from them and scare them off if they try to break into your house.
