What is the best instrument? People have many opinions when it comes to this topic and many arguments could be made. In my opinion, the guitar is the superior instrument.

When it comes to bands, guitar is the key aspect. For example, you see way more guitar solos than you do keyboard solos. Although drums control the bpm, guitar takes control of the overall sound of the music. If you wanted to play rock, you would add distortion effects. For example, in the band Metallica they often use guitar with distortion to make it sound rough and gives an angry effect.

The guitar can also play almost any genre of music. Guitar can cover rock, acoustic, hip hop, op, etc… With different effects, sound and mood can be changed throughout the song.

Finally, the guitar is very well known. Rather than the trombone, flute, etc… Guitar is liked by most people, no matter what kind of music they like. Guitar is simple, and easy to learn whether you want to play songs with simple chords or just single string songs.

Some people may argue that the drums are the superior instrument. Their reasons may contain the fact that the drums control the tempo of any song and it could be played at different intensities to change the mood of the song. However, drums can’t play actual notes. People now have very low attention spans and if there's a whole song with only drums, people will become bored and uninterested. The guitar keeps people interested.

The next time you want to learn an instrument, I would recommend learning the guitar. I say this because it can play almost any genre of music that you like and can be used to make any genre. You can stop at single string songs and even simple chords and it will still sound great. There are many different levels of difficulties, but sound good at all levels. Learn the guitar!
