Kimberly Davis- PE Teacher

Energetic and full of new ideas, Ms. Kimberly Davis is WF's new PE teacher, and even though she is quite successful at her job, her aspirations don't stop there.

The opportunity to further her career is what brings Ms. Davis to West Florence HS. West Florence is an opportunity for her to teach, as she didn’t teach last year. It's an opportunity for something different, and something new and to get back into a professional career.

She said that being a PE teacher was not her dream job. but she sees the importance of it: physical education and physical activity. In 2000 Davis got her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. In 2002 she got a Masters in Sports Administration. Then in 2014, she got a Masters in Educational Leadership. Davis said that there will be more schooling more her. She plans to advance further; she has a degree in Administration, so she hopes to become an Assistant Principal one day.

Davis summarizes her school years in one word: “home-girl.” She stayed at home, didn’t go out much in high school and when she found herself in college, she still wasn’t the adventurous type. Ms. Davis describes herself as more adventurous now. She said she doesn’t want to have existed in this life but not lived it. She would love to live one month in a different country, perhaps starting with London. Travelling is something that she enjoys, especially knowing more about different dishes from different cultures.

Her goals and dreams inspire her. She believes in having a purpose and fulfilling it. So, what is her advice to students?

‘’Dream. I say dream and have visions and fight for them, and make decisions to achieve them everyday...Set those short-term goals and long-term goals. If you keep reaching those short-term goals, you will make it to your long term goals. Life is a social thing but also an individual thing. You have to get your individual things done, so that you can function better in a smaller group or larger society. Everybody has value,” said Davis

Davis encourages her students to attend Career Awareness days and Motivational Speaking events that can motivate them to be better and do better, believing that high school students have adult potential in everything they do. Davis has visions for her future here at WF:

“I feel safe and happy here. I would like it to be a more consolidated and up to date facility. More funding and more certified teachers,” said Davis, “As for me, I am ready to be back, I am ready to give, ready to help, ready to provide, ready to encourage the kids. I am ready to give an example, to the young ladies and young men because they need motherly guidance as well.”

Welcome to West Florence High School, Ms. Kimberly Davis!
