Hanna exudes caring, love for teaching

All West Florence teachers have many different powers. For Mrs. Jamie Hanna , it’s being so respectful and sweet. In Hanna’s classroom, students can learn so many different things beyond her subject of Government & Economics.

Why did she choose teaching?

Simply put: To see if she could make a difference. She loves making kids see their true selves. She loves helping students with in and out of school problems. She likes having kids comfortable to tell her anything. She wants kids to remember it is always ok to be yourself. Don’t let anyone judge you for being different.

Her hobbies out of school

Hanna loves to travel, even though she said she has so many bad travel experiences. One of them is when she went to Chicago they delayed her flight 3 hours going and 3 hours coming back. She said one day she wants to travel the world, which includes going back to Greece and going to Jerusalem. Along with traveling, Hanna said she loves eating different types of food, but especially Greek and Italian food.

What she would change about school

One change Hanna said she would make if money or resources were no object would be to have even more schools in F1S, She said far too many of our schools are overcrowded. On a fun note, Hanna said she would love to add more field trips to the school experience (she does love to travel!).

One thing she worries about

Her son's future. She knows how cruel this world could be. She prays for her son's faith. She hopes no one ever harms her son out of cruelty. She says her son is so sweet and she raised him to be that way.

To punctuate this sentiment, Hanna had this response to what she would change about the world.

“I want this generation to be accepting and I want racism to end,” Hanna said.
