Sgt Dawson aims high with students
Aim high! That’s the Air Force motto and that’s exactly what Sgt Dawson likes to teach his students too.
After being in the Air Force for 26 years, Dawson comes back now with a new mission as WF’s new ROTC instructor. He says he really enjoys teaching and likes to describe himself as a loyal and compassionate man.
What piece of advice would he give his students?
“A lot of young people dream to go to the military but only a few of them achieve that dream because most of them don’t have a plan,” he said.
He describes the word dream as a skill of mind ,that in order to be achieved ,one has to start putting action on it.
Sgt Dawson says the best part about teaching students at West is that every day, in class, each student brings something new with them. Each student is unique and every day they show a different kind of performance. Some days they are energetic and some days they aren’t.
Sgt Dawson said he is a strong man of faith. He likes reading the bible, and his favourite person is David.
The reason David is his role model is because he shows emotions, but at the same time is very brave.
His favourite medal is the bronze star that he achieved in combat.
WF welcomes Sgt. Dawson!
