Lifelong learning is key to Black
Sometimes a person is unaware of his or her true passion and this is the case of one of WF’s own, Ms. Anieta Black. She discovered her gift for teaching while in the classroom of a middle school one day and fell in love with it.
“I have a passion to learn and to know,” she said.
Black attended Francis Marion University where she received a B.S. degree; she later obtained her Master's degree from Grand Canyon University. One way she enables students to grasp information is by repetition and giving clarification over the lesson. She promotes the idea of giving assignments that will be beneficial inside and outside of the classroom.
Black feels that one of her strengths is her consistency. She is striving to adjust her skills from middle school to the high school level.
Black said she is a life long learner.
“I like learning myself, as long as we live we are always going to learn something,” she said.
Black loves teaching; one of the reasons is because, as a science teacher she loves to talk about the human body. Her tenure here at WF has been very different since she has come from a middle school, but it has allowed her to maneuver and be able to do what a teacher does in the classroom.
If you really want to get on her bad side, do not, I repeat, do not walk, around the classroom or talk while she is talking. In her free time you might catch Black singing or decorating. All in all, Black is thankful for how far she has made it in this life.
