Brisbone proud to be a Knight!
New to West Florence this year is Miss Calandra Brisbone, assistant principal. This is her first year working at WF. What inspired her to become an assistant principal was working at an elementary school with other assistant principals.
“When I first started in education there are things I wanted to see changed, I also wanted to provide positive influence on teachers,” she said. “Elementary school principals I have worked with have provided me with the structures that I needed and I was very engaged in the positive influence that I saw them providing for myself and the other staff members; I thought this would be a great transition role into leadership of which I wanted to be a part.”
Brisbone started her higher education at Francis Marion University, where she got her BS degree in Elementary Education. After that she went to Lesley University for her Masters in Technology. Finally, she attended Gardner Webb University to get her Masters in Educational Leadership.
So what does Brisbone think of WF?
“I think West Florence is a great place for students to learn and engage in their learning and where teachers can help support one another,” she said. “I look forward to continuing to see the growth here and see the progression here with the technology. I feel very proud to be a Knight!”
Brisbone is also very appreciative of the WF family feeling
“My favorite thing about West Florence is the school community; the parents know we are here for their students. I want students to know and understand that I am here to help them as well,” she said.
