Mixon running towards greatness
Region 6- 5A champion Pearson Mixon has had a record setting season in cross country. Mixon finished the region run with a time of 16:52, 21 seconds ahead of his next competitor.
“I feel I’ve done pretty well. I started off the season really well and kept progressing throughout the season,” Pearson said.
Mixon is a Senior on the WF Cross Country and Track and Field team. He has been a standout the past two years and continues to be after winning the region 6 championship.
When it comes to college he hopes to continue doing Cross Country and Track and Field at Coastal Carolina. When he does go on to college he will miss WF a lot. He will miss the team and the competitions as they have become a family. For now though he still has to finish the year strong.
Mixon expects a lot out of the rest of the year by achieving goals
like top three in state qualifiers, top seven at state championship meet, qualify for Shrine Bowl run, finish First Team All-South at Footlocker, and same thing for track. Pearson has many big goals to finish off this season and more to do in the future, which makes him a big name at WF.
