Gibbs enjoys helping students

“The thing I love the most about my job is helping all the students, giving them direction whenever they need,” said Deborah Gibbs, the new computer operator here at West Florence. You can often see her upon first entering the school, greeting visitors and students.

Before coming to West Florence, Gibbs worked in a medical billing office, a local family owned business. She was the office manager and worked there for 27 years.

Here at West Florence, Gibbs said she thinks her job is rewarding; everytime she gets a “have a good day” or just a simple “thank you,” it always makes her day better. If she has to deal with a stressful situation, she said she tries to remain calm.

In her free time, Gibbs enjoys spending time with her loved ones, her family. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they have been married since 1984. She has three children, one daughter and two sons; all of three of her children graduated from West Florence. She also enjoys spending time with her 5 wonderful grandchildren, as well as babysitting her granddog, Payton.
