Graylin Howard enacts change at WF

¨I just want everyone to know that I'm here for them. No matter who it is, I'm here to talk, and I'm here to listen,” said new School Therapist Graylin Howard.

Howard loves being able to help everyone, especially young people, with any problems. Knowing how to help people and deal with his own job stress, H

oward is a great example of a school-based therapist.

Howard was influenced to be a school therapist due to a military job he had where he was able to talk people through their problems. He enjoyed doing this so much that he decided to go into the education field and come to West Florence.

Howard finds that it's easy to talk to the students and get to know them. He finds that it's very enjoyable to be able to build friendships with the students while also listening to them and being able to help them on a deeper level.

When it comes to work stress, Howard said it is very important to stay organized with notes and to take plenty of time for yourself.

¨Find something that you like to do so you can spend time for yourself. It really helps to stay focused with work,¨ he said.

Howard believes that it's just as important to have school based therapists as it is to have normal therapists.

¨It's good to have a source in the school environment to help the students,” he said.

Additionally, Howard wants all West Florence students to know that he is here for every student who may need help. Graylin Howard is trying his best to help make a change at West Florence High.
