Perry has love for education, students
Assistant principals have huge roles in a school, and are very important to keeping everything in line. New AP Rahsaan Perry is a great example of an assistant principal who cares about all the students at WF and wants everybody to be successful.
Since the second grade, Perry had always wanted to be a teacher, or in the education field. His dedication to his job is evident everyday as he tries to get closer to being a head principal, which he sees himself doing in the near future. Besides his job, there are many other interesting aspects about Perry.
“My favorite thing to do outside of school is watch movies,” Perry said.
Along with movies, he enjoys many other activities like watching some sports, tattoos, and traveling. Traveling is something he wants to continue to do while he continues further in his career.
“If there is one place I could live right now it would be in California,” Perry said.
Although he isn’t living in California now, he sees himself retiring there when the time comes. Until then, however, he has traveled to many different places like Las Vegas and New Orleans, which was his favorite. He is an interesting person outside of school, but he is also a notable person during school.
“I love my job,” Perry said. “I like being able to support teachers, meeting new people, and interacting with students.”
Even after being in the education system for seven years, it’s obvious Perry still loves his job. Like most people, he doesn’t like the discipline part of his job, but he said he does whatever he needs to do for the better of the school.
“I came to this school because I liked the area, and I knew Mr. Dowdell,” Perry said.
Even though this is his first year, Perry seems to be settling in nicely. Furthermore, he is looking forward to continuing his work here at West, and becoming the best assistant principal possible.
