Reid aspires to inspiration for students
“My goal as a teacher is to inspire the students I teach" ~
Mrs. Georgia Reid, WF math teacher.
Having to replace teachers can hard but choosing Georgia Reid was not. Reid is a new Algebra 2 teacher here at West Florence. This is Reid's thirteenth year teaching school, her twelfth in the US.
Originally, Reid was born in Jamaica and lived there all of her life until she and her husband moved due to Reid's job. She said she misses the people and the food in Jamaica. Reid's favorite food from Jamaica is jerked chicken, jerked pork, and curried goat. She loves those foods because she savors the taste with the spices.
Reid graduated from University of Technology. Her degree was second class honors. One major obstacle she faced getting to school was a lack of transportatio
n; she had the rely on the bus to go to school.
Reid's overall goal in teaching is to inspire kids and grow up and be successful. Her favorite subject to teach is quadratics because it gives students multiple approaches to learn and teach.
Mrs. Reid has no hobbies right now, as she keeps busy taking care of her 10 year old son and twin 4 year old sons. Her favorite activity to do with her kids is go visit the park and enjoy the outdoors with them.
Overall Reid is a very nice person and a great teacher who loves what she does. Welcome to West, Mrs. Reid!
