Rollins: Building relationships

“It’s my favorite subject!” Hagan Rollins said about wanting to teach English. Rollins graduated from West Florence so she wanted to see if she would have a good experience of actually teaching here.

This is her first year teaching, and Rollins is committed to doing everything possible to help her students succeed. If a student is failing, she said she will reach out to them and help them with missing assignments.

She said one of the things she likes about West Florence is her co-workers, as well as the students. She said the best part of teaching is the relationships with the students.

Rollins has been teaching for just this year, and she only taught freshmen so far… Her opinion on homework: you should have time to complete it at school.

Her greatest professional accomplishment is winning the English education award as a senior here at West Florence.

Rollins said outside of school she likes to go to the lake and hang out with family and friends.
