To Shamblen, growth is key in both academics and sports
Math teacher Ronald Shamblen has a passion for both math and soccer. Shamblen is a wonderful teacher here at West Florence. He has been married for two years. He is from Tampa, Florida and went to college at the University of South Florida. He has been working at West Florence for two years now.
“To grow as students and to gain critical thinking skills,”“ Shamblen said about his goal for his students in his math class to develop these skills.
Shamblen loves to teach math. He loves to watch the students grow and be able to solve math problems that they have learned to do. He loves to see his students working hard to achieve their goals.
Mr. Shamblen is not only a math teacher but a soccer coach as well.
“Watching the players grow,” Mr. Shamblen said about something important to him as a coach and what makes him love the game of soccer.
Shamblen played when he was younger and one of the coaches at West Florence. Alex Shortall, persuaded him to coach a team. Shamblen is the Sneed soccer coach and helps assist the teams here at West Florence. He loves seeing the players grow as they are playing the sport.
“You don’t have to be good at it to get good at it,” Shamblen said.
