Twitty embraces change
Mr. Daniel Twitty is West Florence High School's new Sports Marketing teacher and assistant baseball coach. Though he was nervous for his first teaching job, he is excited for what is in store for him. He loves to interact
with the students instead of sitting at a desk job. He talked about how the teachers and staff have been extremely helpful in his new position. Twitty also expressed his excitement to work with the head baseball coach, Josh Brown.
In his class, Sports Marketing, Twitty educates students on the world of marketing pertaining to the sports industry, which is perfect for a former baseball player like himself.
¨I’ve been playing baseball for 10 years,¨ Twitty said. He has played baseball growing up and throughout college. He also coached baseball for four years.
Twitty transferred from Sumter USC to Francis Marion, where he graduated with a degree in business. This is his first year as a teacher, though he has family in the education field, which was his motivation to become a teacher.
¨Everyone can be the change,¨ Twitty said.
He whole-heartedly believes that our new school motto applies to everyone in the school. Twitty said believes if every student and staff became the change, we could make real change and be the best school.
