Yarborough: Working together to grow
West Florence guidance counselor Britton Yarborough is one of the great guidance counselors here at West Florence. Yarborough became engaged and involved in guidance counseling because she loves to see students succeed.
Yarborough also strives to be a positive influence to any student that she encounters. She said she works to better herself and maintain a positive work ethic and continue to be supportive.
Yarborough loves to work with students and help them become better people. She has a passion for being helpful in any way she can. She wants to see more students completing high school and staying out of trouble by providing assistance and guidance.
“I want to see students from the time they step in for their freshman year to the time they graduate,” said Yarborough. She then spoke on her dedication and passion to help the school and, of course, the students.
Yarborough described what kind of worker she is and why.
“I am definitely a group worker; I like to get different opinions and perspectives from others who don't think like me,” said Yarborough about if she was a “lone wolf” type of worker or if she works better in groups.
Yarborough also believes West Florence can continue to improve and grow as a school/community.
“I think that West Florence can continue to grow by improving communication and continuing to work together,” said Yarborough.
